Cobras draw once again with Uni Melb Blues 1-1
The Cobras have stabilised their season with another draw but still remain at the foot of the table and have finalised the appointment of their new coach, Fred Demitriou.

The team on Saturday was comprised of 4 new starters as Chris Balkos was welcomed back into the starting lineup along with Nicka Talidis, Ben Rigby and John Tselekidis. It was a slow start for both teams but Uni Melb Blues took the lead in the first half after a pinpoint corner was brilliantly headed into goal opening the score. The Cobras were once again on the backfoot but finished the half strongly with a couple of half chances.

It was different team that came out on the park in the second half as the Cobras took control and equalised within 10 minutes as Peter Alissaphos held off his marker and blasted the ball past the keeper from a tight angle making it 1-1. A couple of minutes later Nick Talidis' shot was heading goalwards but the Uni Melb keeper made a fantastic last second save while Declan Frey also made a couple of brilliant saves for the Cobras.

In the end both sides deserved a point and the game finished at 1-1 and the Cobras have improved and looking forward to continuing their positive form againt the inform Endeavour United in a fortnight as this Saturday is a bye for the World Cup. The Cobras will also be welcoming their new Senior coach, Fred Demitriou who will take over this week. He comes to club with senior coaching experience with East Altona Pheonix and Yarravile and we wish him the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

The Reserves had another bad game and lost convincingly 0-3 and remain in 3rd spot. The team is looking forward to the break as a couple of players will be returning from injury and strengthening the team.

The Thirds have notched their 4th win aftera tight 2-1 win over Marcellin Eagles and move to 6th spot while the Masters were gallant in defeat against top placed Sth Yarra 0-3 as they held the leaders to 0-0 at the break.
