Cobras defeat the fancied Endeavour United 2-1
The Cobras delivered new coach Fred Demetriou his first win in his first game, the Reserves returned to the winners list, the Thirds won their 4th game in a row coming back from a two goal deficit while the Masters were unlucky in their loss to Elwood City.

It was the Seniors who were the toast of the Cobraland as they played splendid football for 90 minutes to notch up their second win of the season. The positive feeling around the club has been building up over the past month and on Saturday they true to form and should have scored more in the end. The side was hell bent on attacking football and came close a number of times in the first half but Endeavour Utd scored first with their first attack to dent the Cobras' relentless pressure but only for a couple of minutes.

Steve Tsiantoulas scored a brilliant equaliser and with 15 minutes remaining supersub John Tzifrakos scored the winner with his second touch of the day. Peter Alissaphos had a great opportunity to score the third but was brutally brought down by the keeper just outside the box and the Endeavour keeper was correctly red carded with 10 minutes remaining. The Cobras closed the game as 2-1 winners and back in the hunt of climbing the Prov 2 ladder.

Finally the side had winners all over the park as the 3rd placed host struggled to contain the Cobras' steel and determination to win the game. That determination has been a feature of this proud club for many many years and on Saturday it has finally returned.

This Saturday the Cobras are hosting Whitehorse at Victory Park in another crucial game.

The Reserves also had a very good game with a reshuffled side playing to instructions and blanketing their opponents. Denis Khasapov was back to his attacking best as he bustled his way in scoring both goals. Although the first goal should have been awarded to Rob Pititto after a brilliant strike hit the crossbar and landed at least half a metre inside the goal but the referee signalled play on as Khasapov pounced on the ball and made sure of the goal.

The side once again demonstrated its ability to play the ball on the ground at a ferocious pace and with Ari Mamalis upfront causing headaches to the opposition it enabled the smaller bodies to create chance after chance. Brilliant effort.

The Thirds were cocky against Old Melburnians and it showed as they went behind by two goals due to sloppy defending. Though the never say die attitude enabled the team to dig itself out of the self created hole and it started by Ado Dedovic blasting a free kick over the wall for the first, Bamboo scored the second while John Tselekidis slotted the winner after pleading with the coach to play upfront and with his first touch found the back of the net. This week's game is against Monash University at Monash's fantastic pitch starting at 11am.

The Masters were unlucky in their 1-3 loss to Collingwood City as their opponents were on the receiving end of 2 dubious free kicks and we also had a player sent off. Even in Masters, football it is very competitive. The team is getting closer to a first up win and this week play against Middle Park at home
